Quelccaya Foundation

reschooling-with is held by the Quelccaya Foundation, a new organization founded in 2024, which emerged from Fossil Free Culture NL (FFC). The foundation is named after the Quelccaya glacier —the largest tropical glacier in the world, currently threatened by a Canadian mining corporation— and honors a commitment to defending territories and all life forms. Working in solidarity with both human and more-than-human communities affected by intensified extraction like lithium mining threatening glacier-bodies, Quelccaya nourishes ancestral futures that move beyond extractivism towards reciprocal relationships with Earth.

Quelccaya Foundation's board members are Shila Ishwardat, Stijn Verhoeff, and Wan Ing Que.

reschooling-with is a living platform for nurturing and reclaiming pluriversal ways of being, knowing, and relating—through art, un/learning, embodied research, ancestral futurity, solidarity weaving, and eco-social action.

reschooling-with what?

“re” speaks to composting, reimagining, rehearsing, re-membering, relearning, reworlding —and repeating, again and again, until we get it right, which may never happen, at least not in our lifetimes. Our artistic projects are rehearsals, rehearsing solidarity as well as other ways of living that align with the worlds we know are possible.
