We are living through a time of profound change. The systems that sustain life—social, ecological, and economic—are under increasing strain. In this context, many of us are asking: How do we respond? What needs to be repaired, resisted, or reimagined? And how can we help create the conditions for more just and liveable futures?
reschooling-with is a living platform for exploring these questions together.
We bring people from different backgrounds—learners, educators, artists, organisers, and collaborators—into shared spaces of inquiry, creativity, and practice. Rather than offering fixed answers, we support collective learning processes that are grounded in care, humility, and responsibility.
Our work recognises that today’s crises are shaped by long histories and ongoing systems such as colonialism, racism, patriarchy, and extractive economic models. We also respond to the urgency of the present: climate breakdown, violence, and deepening inequality. At the same time, we believe in the power of collective imagination, creativity, and solidarity to open up other possibilities.
reschooling-with is both a practice and an approach:
“re” is about returning and reworking—reimagining, relearning, remembering, and repeating. It invites us to reflect on what needs to change and to keep trying, even when there are no easy or final answers. Our artistic projects and courses are spaces to practice and rehearse responding in non-extractive ways that do not reproduce harm. We often use composting as a guiding idea: transforming what exists into fertile ground for something new to grow.
“schooling” is not about traditional education. It is about learning together, like a school of fish moving in relation—sensing, orienting, and growing collectively. We create spaces to question and unlearn dominant ways of thinking, and to practice undoing the colonial logics inscribed in our bodies while reconnecting with embodied, relational, and more-than-human ways of knowing. Our approach to learning is collaborative, experimental, and grounded in lived, embodied experience.
“with” is a commitment to relationality and solidarity. It means learning and acting alongside others, rather than for them. It challenges individualism and extractive ways of taking knowledge, and instead centres mutual care, shared responsibility, and connection across differences. This “with” extends beyond the human—it invites us to learn in relationship and solidarity with land, water, plants, animals, ancestors, and unseen forces. It asks us to listen more deeply, to move with attention and reciprocity, and to recognise that knowledge emerges through connection, both with people and with the wider web of life.
In practice, we:
- support artistic processes as ways to reflect, resist, and build solidarity
- co-create learning environments that invite unlearning and new ways of relating
- engage in embodied and collaborative research that values lived and ancestral knowledge
- experiment with practices that help us imagine and enact different futures
- build networks of care and connection that sustain collective work
reschooling-with is an ongoing, evolving process of listening, responding, undoing and co-creating. It is about making space—together—for other ways of living, learning, and relating to emerge.
